Our Journey Begins

Our travels began on Tuesday, June 22nd, in Southern Aroostook County, Benedicta, Maine. We had the pleasure of visiting with family before setting up camp later in the day at Pumpkin Patch campground in Hermon. It was a clean, well organized RV park with the added attraction of a doggie play area that Bentley loved.












Much to Bentley's dismay, we packed up in the morning and made our way south to LL Bean's and Cabela's for some last minute shopping for hiking gear.

Now onto some real excitement...navigating the IBEX camper through I-495 morning traffic. We were looking for excitement on this trip of a different sort!

Back In Time

With a break in the weather, we continued our journey across middle America passing thru the “Land of Lincoln” and crossing over the Mighty Mississippi. We imagined what it would be like to paddle our Minnesota II canoe on it someday…Yikes! Our westerly trek brought us to Amana, Iowa, where we planned to relax and enjoy the holiday. With the temps still in the 90’s, Bentley opted to catch up on some ZZZZZZ’s in the IBEX while we made our way north to Cedar Rapids. Years ago, Dawn’s Dad played minor league baseball as a pitcher in this area. It was here her Mom and Dad were married and the rest is history. We had great fun tracing back to where it all began. Adjacent to the ball park, was the All-Veteran’s Memorial where Brad (Sgt Krog) took the opportunity to pay his respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
